An EarthCraft Mixed-Use Development
The Allied Circle project is a mixed-use energy-efficient urban development, designed by Barbara Gehrung for Woodard Properties. Located near the heart of downtown Charlottesville as a part of MacIntire Plaza, it houses both residential units and commercial spaces designed to showcase an “eclectic mix of food, art, retail, and local entrepreneurship of all shapes and sizes.” The residential spaces range from 1,645 to 1,860 square feet and feature airy floor plans, elegant finishes, and a communal rooftop space.
Established in 1999, EarthCraft is a green building certification serving the Southeastern United States. The organization provides a number of residential and commercial certification programs to provide third-party recognition for projects created to a high environmental standard. Allied Circle is currently seeking EarthCraft Multifamily certification for the residential portion of the development.
